The 17th "OPEN! Giant Balloon Parade" and "OPEN!RUN" will be held in Kaohsiung on December 7th and 8th. This event, loved by people of all ages across Taiwan, features four highlights this year: 20 giant balloons, 20 ground balloons, diverse dance performances, a family-friendly carnival, and international IP character performances.
This year's parade attracts many popular characters. Besides the OPEN! family members, it includes Sanrio stars like Gudetama, Kinarahara's Little Animals, and Hello Kitty, as well as internationally famous characters like Snoopy and Charlie Brown. Ultraman and Olaf from Frozen will make their first appearance. This year's parade specially invited Kaohsiung Girls' High School's band to celebrate the school's centennial. They will also have performances by teams like Beiyi Girls' High School's dance club, and Hsinchu Guangming Elementary School's dance troupe. These teams will showcase vibrant performances.
7-ELEVEN has set up an "OPEN! PLAZA pop-up store" at the 1st floor of Dream Mall, next to the service counter. People can take photos, check in, and buy cute IP merchandise. Furthermore, the "OPEN! Urban Sports Festival" from Yokohama, Japan, will be held in Kaohsiung for the first time on December 7th and 8th. Activities include children's parkour performances, teenagers' 3-on-3 soccer, couple's juggling, and skateboarding, as well as breakdancing competitions and celebrity meet-and-greets. This adds excitement to the weekend. Tickets cost NT$349 per person. Attendees of OPEN!RUN can get a 90% discount on tickets. Quantities are limited. Participants completing at least two sports checkpoints can receive a certificate of completion from the official Japanese organizers, and OPENPOINT points.
Additionally, children's favorite superhero, Ultraman, will be appearing on December 7th and 8th. 7-ELEVEN will host the "Ultraman Jyak and Super Hero Fly-through Stage Show" for the first time. There are 5 ticketed performances, each with a limit of 500 people. Tickets cost NT$699 per person, and a photo package, including gifts and a limited photo opportunity, is available for NT$1,099.
