NIA & NGO assist undocumented migrant workers in getting vaccinated with peace of mind

To increase the vaccination rate, the Taipei City Brigade of National Immigration Agency (NIA) collaborated with designated hospitals, and established cooperation mechanism with NGO groups such as "The Catholic Church of Taipei (天主教臺北總教區聖多福堂)", "Mosque", "Taoyuan City New Immigrants Charity Care Association (桃園市新住民慈善關懷協會)", "Judicial Interpretation Association (司法通譯協會)" and "Caring Son Home (關愛之子家園)", etc.

The NGO encourages foreign nationals, including undocumented migrant workers and overstayers to receive free vaccination. The Brigade has assisted in the tabulation of names and vaccination appointments. So far, the project has assisted more than 500 people to get vaccinated, including 30 migrant mothers.

A large-scale vaccination site was set up at the main hall of Taipei Main Station from December 5 to 12, 2021. Lin Cai Rong (林財榮), the Commander of the Taipei City Brigade emphasized on the four main principles of “Carefree Covid-19 Vaccination Program”, “won’t be reported”, “won’t be seized”, “won’t be charged for any fee”, “won’t be banned”, and help foreign nationals without having legal status in Taiwan to get vaccinated with peace of mind.

Lin Cai Rong appeals to the public that undocumented migrant workers and the public are encouraged to get vaccinated, protecting yourself and others. The vaccination site at the main hall of Taipei Main Station will be available until December 21.
