A recent gathering to honor the ancestors at Chaotian Temple in Beigang was arranged by the Ma-Tsu Temple of the San Francisco in the United States(美國舊金山朝聖宮媽祖廟). Li Danny, a young Taiwanese American, carry the sedan chair for the first time. In this regard, he expressed his happiness at having attended such a significant occasion and noted that it had been a truly unique experience.

In 1986, Ma-Tsu Temple of the San Francisco in the United States (美國舊金山朝聖宮媽祖廟) was founded. It honors Ma-Tsu from Beigang's Chaotian Palace. It is a ritual to go back to Taiwan to honor ancestors every few years. The itinerary that was meant to return to Taiwan in 2021 was unable to be properly completed this year because of the epidemic. In accordance with age-old customs, Yan Rongli(顏榮利), chairman of Ma-Tsu Temple of the San Francisco in the United States, led 25 believers in welcoming 3 Ma-Tsu to Beigang Chaotian Temple a few days ago. Firecrackers were fired off in the area where Ma-Tsu's sedan chair passed, drawing many of visitors and believers. It was an impressive scene.

A well-known Ma-Tsu temple in Taiwan is Chaotian Temple in Beigang. It has drawn visitors and worshippers for a very long time. Through this American Ma-Tsu's journey back to Taiwan, it not only forges ties between Taiwanese and American believers but also highlights the strong emotional bond between Taiwan and abroad Chinese.
