Taiwan has reported a significant increase in Covid-19 cases, with a cluster among manufacturing workers at Askey Computer Corp. located at Taoyuan Farglory Free Trade Zone. The cluster has now grown to around 100 cases. Besides, there is a new cluster found at Kaohsiung City as well.
Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) has ordered the suspension of Askey Computer Corp.’s operations, and there are 30 factories that have adopted preemptive measures against COVID-19 variant Omicron.

To curb virus spread, the 24-hour 1955 Hotline service will still be provided in different languages including Indonesian, Vietnamese, Thai, English, and Mandarin during the vacation. Besides, companies hiring more than 50 people will be assisted in contact tracing for the first round, and there will be plans to conduct COVID-19 testing for companies employing less than 50 people.
The Ministry of Labor (MOL, 勞動部) appeals to employers and manpower agencies to help migrant workers prepare personal identification documents and get vaccinated as soon as possible. Moreover, foreign nationals can check the latest information on “Line@E-Line” in multiple languages.
