In cooperation with IC Voice FM97.5 【New Students Report For Sharing -We are in Taiwan】, a series of exciting stories about new immigrants in Taiwan is launched. This episode invites a second-generation immigrant from Vietnam - Chen Jun Yu (陳俊宇). He is currently studying at National Taipei University of Education (國立臺北教育大學) - Department of English Education for Children.

At first, he aspired to be an English teacher in a tuition center. However, he changed his mind when he was taking the "Educational Course (教育學程)" course in the university. He hopes that he will be a responsible teacher who can make students enthusiastic about learning. Besides, he is also writing lesson plans related to Vietnamese culture, hoping to enable more children of immigrants to understand Vietnam more.

Chen Jun Yu shares that his mother is a new immigrant from Thành phố Đà Lạt (大叻市) of Vietnam. Although he does not go back to her mom’s hometown very often, he always makes gestures to communicate with his cousins. Chen said that his favorite food is "Vietnamese pho", which is a must-eat food for him every week while residing in Taiwan.

In addition, Chen Jun Yu also participated in an activity named “Is it possible to create a new immigrant community, our cultural space creation strategy” in 2019. The activity was held by a group - “Dao Yu Yi Wen Ceng (島嶼移溫層)” at the “Khuôn viên văn hoá Việt Nam (越在嘉文化棧)” located in Minxiong Township of Chiayi County. The public, new immigrants and their children were invited to have a discussion together.

Chen served as the head of the table, leading the students to participate in discussions and sharing opinions with people from different fields. He said that his role in the event itself was a challenge to him, yet the event was also an interesting and fulfilling one.
