The Indonesian Katini Festival, which falls on April 21 this year, also falls on Eid al-Fitr. Taichung Joy Culture Promotion Association (臺中市喜樂文化推廣協會) gathered new immigrants groups to organize the celebration event in the square in front of Taichung Railway Station. National Immigration Agency (Taichung City First Service Center) also took part in the event and propaganda the “Expanded Overstayers Voluntary Departure Program.”
Taiwan has a diverse population. Currently, Taiwan is home to roughly 10,000 Indonesian students, over 30,000 new female immigrants from Indonesia, and 200,000 migrant workers from that country. Every year, for Indonesian women who cherish women's rights, April 21st is a wonderful day to remember. In support of gender equality, Raden Ajeng Kartini exhorts women to follow their ambitions. Kartini Day is not just a holiday; it is also a perfect opportunity for multicultural groups to get together and celebrate this significant festival. Taiwan, which ranks first in Asia for overall gender equality, extends a particular invitation to these groups to celebrate together.

Indonesians are mostly Muslims, the Taichung Joy Culture Promotion Association (臺中市喜樂文化推廣協會) combines two significant festivals and welcome new immigrants and Indonesians in Taiwan to celebrate together. Eid al-Fitr dishes, Indonesian dances performances, Indonesian traditional costume experience will be prepared on site so that Indonesian friends in Taiwan can also experience the atmosphere of their hometown in Taiwan.

Eid al-Fitr is a day for family gathering and celebration, according to the director (王驥) of National Immigration Agency (Taichung City First Service Center). Those who meet the program requirements for "self-report" may apply for the “Expanded Overstayers Voluntary Departure Program” of "minimum fines, no detention, exemption of entry ban" from February 1, 2023, until June 30, 2023. Overstaying migrants are urged to come forward as soon as possible and pay the fee before leaving for their home country.
