On September 27, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced nine new confirmed case of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. All those cases are imported. The CECC announced one death today.

Regarding the nine new imported cases, they are four men and five women, aged between under 10 to 49 years old. They arrived in Taiwan from Myanmar (seven cases) and Indonesia (two cases). They arrived between September 11 and September 24.

Regarding the one death (Case #14085) announced today, the case was an over 80-year-old female with chronic disease.

The CECC reported that a total of 3,305,433 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 3,287,506. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 16,198 cases. Of the 16,198 confirmed cases, 1,565 are imported; 14,579 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has unknown sources of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated, and a cumulative total of 110 cases have been removed from the list of confirmed cases. There have been a cumulative total of 842 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 842 deaths, 830 are from domestic cases and the other 12 are from imported cases.
