On September 23, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced nine new confirmed case of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. All those cases are imported. The CECC announced no deaths today.

Regarding the nine new imported cases, they are seven men and two women, aged between 20 to 49 years old. They arrived in Taiwan from Indonesia (two cases), the United Arab Emirates, Vietnam (two cases), the Philippines, Austria, India, and Kenya. They arrived between September 8 and September 22.

The CECC reported that a total of 3,216,611 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 3,199,476. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 16,168 cases. Of the 16,168 confirmed cases, 1,536 are imported; 14,578 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has unknown sources of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated, and a cumulative total of 110 cases have been removed from the list of confirmed cases. There have been a cumulative total of 841 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 841 deaths, 829 are from domestic cases and the other 12 are from imported cases.
