Switching employers or being dispatched to other workplaces? No PCR required for migrant workers if you are fully vaccinated

Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) stated that taking into consideration the needs of manpower and migrant worker’s rights, the Taiwan government has started easing the Covid-19 restrictions.

From today, if migrant workers are switching their employers or dispatched to different workplaces, they do not have to take rapid antigen test or nucleic acid test (PCR) if they have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19. However, employers and migrant workers still need to follow epidemic prevention measures implemented by CECC and the Ministry of Labor (MOL).

CECC encourages migrant workers to get vaccinated and reduces the possibility of COVID-19 clusters in Taiwan. After lifting the PCR restrictions, employers should still implement other epidemic prevention regulations such as strengthening dormitory management, staggered working hours, and health monitoring in accordance with the regulations.

If companies do not follow the regulations, they might be facing fines from NT$300,000 to NT$60,000, and refusal to issue renewal employment permits.
