According to the Taoyuan City Government, Taoyuan Mayor Cheng Wen-tsan (鄭文燦) addressed a news conference at the Taoyuan City General Conference Hall to launch the "Promoting Diplomacy via Sports: Making Taoyuan an Asia-Pacific Pioneer Sports Base for Gender Equality."

According to him, the city government, AIT, and TaiwanWSA collaborate to promote a variety of women's sports and gender equality in sports. The City Government sponsored TaiwanWSA in translating its gender education materials into seven languages, including English, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Thai, and Filipino, to spread awareness of gender equality in sports.

Gender equality is practiced not only on campus, but also in the community, and more overseas friends of Taiwan have discussed the subject of gender equality in sports.

The plan was signed by Mayor Cheng and representatives from various countries. Mayor Cheng congratulated AIT Director Sandra Oudkirk and her colleagues, as well as representatives from other nations and TaiwanWSA, for working together to promote female equality in sports and shape cross-cultural encounters around shared values.

Mayor Cheng wants to integrate gender equality materials into general education and make Taoyuan a "gender equality-friendly city."
