Nantou launches multilingual posters on vehicles to promote epidemic prevention instructions for migrant workers.

The Nantou County Government has launched the promotion of Covid-19 epidemic prevention using vehicles going around the different towns and cities with public broadcasts in Mandarin, Taiwanese, Vietnamese, Thai, English, and Indonesian languages. At the same time, multi-lingual anti-epidemic information posters are installed on the vehicles’ body to make sure that the Nantou people and the migrant workers understand the epidemic prevention measures. This is to avoid violations of the Covid-19 nationwide level 3 alert and other epidemic prevention regulations.

The public broadcasts remind the people and the migrant workers to frequently wash their hands with soap, to avoid eating together, to avoid going out unless necessary, to avoid group gatherings and to always wear face masks when outside their homes.  The fine for not wearing a face mask when outside is from NT$3,000 to NT$15,000. At the same time, illegal migrant workers with suspected Covid-19 symptoms are encouraged to go to Puli Christian Hospital (埔里基督教醫院), Yumin Hospital (佑民醫院), Nantou Christian Hospital (南投基督教醫院) or Chu Shang Show Chwan Hospital (竹山秀傳醫院) for free covid testing. They will not be reported and investigated by the authorities.

The Nantou County Government’s Social and Labor Department director, Lin Chi-chung (林志忠) urged migrant workers in the county to cooperate with the epidemic prevention policies of the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC, 中央疫情指揮中心) by not going out unless necessary and by reducing unnecessary movements during the epidemic. In addition, the Labor and the Youth Section of the Department of Social Labor has established the "Nantou County Migrant Dormitory Management Line App Group" (南投縣移工宿舍管理Line群組) with the employers and the manpower agencies that employ foreigners in Nantou County. Any new information, in the Line App group, will be forwarded to the employers, manpower agencies and migrant workers to ensure real-time sharing of information.
