The COVID-19 Delta variant is gradually spreading across the world. The Central Epidemic Command Center (國家衛生指揮中心中央流行疫情指揮中心 CECC) announced that travelers coming from "high-risk countries" (Brazil, India, Indonesia, Peru, the United Kingdom, Israel, Bangladesh, and others) with a 14-day travel history must follow certain measures.

Travelers from these “high-risk” countries must be quarantined for 14 days, and check-in and release date shall be recorded. Furthermore, anti-epidemic hotels and quarantine centers are now open for reservations.

On June 25, the CECC announced that starting 00:00 on June 27 (time of arrival in Taiwan), quarantine measures for arriving travelers will be as follows:

  1. Travelers arriving in Taiwan from "key high-risk countries" (including those who have visited those countries in the past 14 days and those who have transited in those countries): will be required to quarantine in group quarantine facilities for 14 days and undergo PCR tests for COVID-19 upon checking in at group quarantine facilities and at the end of their quarantine period. Such travelers are not required to pay any quarantine or testing fees.
  1. Travelers arriving Taiwan from countries other than the seven countries will be required to stay in a quarantine hotel or a group quarantine facility at their own expense for 14 days after arrival; they shall also undergo a PCR test before the end of their quarantine period.
  1. Flight crew members of Taiwanese airlines, after returning to Taiwan from "key high-risk countries", shall undergo quarantine in a quarantine hotel or a company dormitory that meets related regulations for 14 days and take a PCR test at the end of their quarantine period.

Taoyuan Airport reminds the public that once you have entered Taiwan, inbound passengers must follow indicators and on-site security guidelines to the anti-epidemic boarding area in arrival halls of Terminals 1 and 2. Passengers will be guided to board the "anti-epidemic taxi" after registration. Additionally, all vehicles and venues will be disinfected to ensure a safe environment for everyone. This is also a reminder to relatives of inbound passengers to refrain from picking them up to avoid any risks and exposure to the Delta variant.
