On September 28, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced seven new confirmed case of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the seven new cases, one is domestic and the other six are imported. The CECC announced no deaths today.

Regarding the new domestic case, Case #16315 is an over 50-year-old male. He took a self-paid COVID-19 test due to work requirements on September 27. Infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in the case on September 28.

Regarding the six new imported cases, they are three men and three women, aged between 20 to 59 years old. They arrived in Taiwan from the US (two cases), Japan (two cases), Vietnam, and Singapore. They arrived between September 13 and September 26.

The CECC reported that a total of 3,329,815 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 3,312,650. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 16,205 cases. Of the 16,205 confirmed cases, 1,571 are imported; 14,580 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has unknown sources of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated, and a cumulative total of 110 cases have been removed from the list of confirmed cases. There have been a cumulative total of 842 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 842 deaths, 830 are from domestic cases and the other 12 are from imported cases.
