Coca-Cola is discontinuing its new Spiced flavor just six months after its release. The company announced it will phase out Spiced to introduce a new flavor in 2025, reflecting a shift in strategy as they adapt to customer preferences. Originally launched in February 2023, Spiced was marketed as a permanent addition to the lineup, blending traditional Coke flavors with raspberry notes to appeal to Gen-Z consumers seeking more complex tastes.

Despite Coca-Cola's efforts, Spiced did not gain traction, likely due to limited awareness and confusion around its flavor profile. Along with Spiced, the company has also decided to end production of Cherry Vanilla and Diet Coke with Splenda. This move is part of Coca-Cola's broader strategy to streamline its beverage portfolio, which has already seen the removal of over 200 drinks in recent years, including Tab, AHA Sparkling Water, and Odwalla.

As consumer preferences shift from sugary sodas to healthier options like sparkling waters and hydration beverages, Coca-Cola is expanding its Topo Chico water line and BodyArmor brand to better meet these demands.
