Tainan is an ancient city with rich cultures and religions, attracting many foreign tourists every year. For foreign tourists who want to learn more about temple culture, one can have a deeper understanding of it by visiting the temple with bilingual explanations in Chinese and English. With the English environment, the building promotes cultural exchanges as well as religious tourism internationally.

Mayor of Tainan City, Huang Wei Zhe (黄偉哲), said that almost all foreign tourists traveled to Tainan to visit the temples. Besides, the temples which are friendly to English native speakers are a manifestation of diplomacy. If international tourists know that the temples in Tainan provide bilingual services, they will be more willing to come and visit.

Holding the belief of promoting multicultural exchanges, the Civil Affairs Bureau actively promotes the establishment of a Chinese & English environment for religious temples and strives to show cultural characteristics and promote religious tourism of Tainan internationally.

Among the temples under the Guidance Program initiated by Tainan City Government, the Huoshan Biyun Temple (火山碧雲寺) at Baihe District has completed the translation of the fortune-telling cards in Chinese, English, and Japanese.

The temple also printed the tourist guide booklets with translated brief historical backgrounds for the public to freely pick up and read, promoting religious tourism in Tainan.

In addition, the Yu Huang Yu Sheng Gong (玉皇玉聖宮) has also provided tourism guidebooks in Chinese, English, and Japanese to introduce the temple, worship procedures, Taoist worship methods, and lighting services.
