The nationwide level 3 alert has greatly impacted the peak seasons for peaches in Jianshi Township (尖石鄉) Taoyuan Lala Mountain (桃園拉拉山) in Hsinchu County. Fruit sales were heavily dependent on tourist purchases but due to the lockdown, the number of visitors decreased. The Hsinchu County Jianshi Township Office, Taoyuan City Fushin Farmers Association, and farmers are working together to sell peaches online to make up for losses.

Taoyuan Lala Mountain

The promotions department of the Taoyuan City Fushin Farmers Association stated that peaches are harvested in 3 phases: early, middle, late. Those harvested in June belong in the "early" phase. Those interested can order peaches through their official website and Facebook page.

Aside from online shopping channels, farmers are preparing for "cross-border" operations. The plan is to deliver peaches directly to the front doorsteps of customers.

Jianshi Township in Hsinchu County

Jianshi Township Office announced on June 22 that it will open its online shopping platform for peaches from June 28 to July 31. Hopefully through online sales, people will become aware of the hard work and efforts farmers put into their harvest.
