The Hualien County Service Center of the Northern Regional Office of the National Immigration Agency held a "Happy Family Management Workshop" and "Legal Education Seminar" on November 15, providing comprehensive guidance on family management and financial knowledge for new residents. The event featured Ms. Huiling Shih from Guowo Studio, who shared tips on managing cross-national marriages, and Ms. Si-Yu Chen, Executive Director of the Hualien County Financial Development Association, who offered anti-fraud awareness and financial education to help new residents safeguard their family happiness and financial security in Taiwan.

Family Management: Deposits of Love and the Happiness Model
Lecturer Huiling Shih analyzed the key factors for successful cross-national marriages, presenting the "Five Psychological Needs" and "Five Keys to Happiness." Through interactive activities, participants were encouraged to express "love passwords," write down actions that moved their partners, and share future expectations to accumulate "love deposits" in their marriage. Additionally, she guided participants in creating family models, emphasizing core family values, communication, and elements that promote harmony and identity within the family. In response to the rise of scams involving impersonated prosecutors and high-return investments, the Immigration Agency invited financial expert Si-Yu Chen to educate participants. She analyzed various new fraud schemes and shared financial knowledge to help new residents stay vigilant and prevent falling victim to scams. Ms. Chen emphasized the importance of distinguishing between good and bad information and encouraged new residents to protect their family assets and avoid losing hard-earned savings.

Educational Advancement: Achieving the University Dream
The Hualien County Service Center stated that new residents are an integral part of Taiwanese society. Many early marriage immigrants who came to Taiwan have worked tirelessly for their families and livelihoods, often regretting interrupted education. According to the Nationality Act, new residents who apply for naturalization can enroll in university through specific application processes. For the 2025 academic year, two universities in the Hualien area offer admission quotas. The service center encourages new residents to seize this opportunity to fulfill their educational aspirations.
