The police officer of Dounan Precinct, Yunlin County Police Bureau traveled to the industrial area and promoted the government decree to migrant workers. Besides, information sheets of “Keep African swine fever (ASF) at bay” are also distributed to remind fellow workers not to purchase meat products from overseas despite longing for the taste of their hometowns.

In view of the recent seizures of ASF-positive pork products sent from Thailand, the police appealed to the migrant workers not to illegally import meat products or purchase any of them online from a questionable place of origin. It is also of great importance not to ask relatives in their hometowns to send meat products to Taiwan. Everyone’s effort is needed in protecting the livestock industry of Taiwan.

The Deputy Chief of Dounan Precinct, Zhan Bai Ping (詹百平), reminded that employers should implement and follow epidemic prevention measures and avoid holding unnecessary gatherings or activities as the community cases continue to grow.
He also mentioned that the “Carefree Covid-19 Vaccination Program” is still ongoing and foreign nationals (including undocumented migrant workers, overstayers) are encouraged to get vaccinated soon to protect themselves and others.
