Since its launch, the "2024 Taitung Tiehua Lantern Festival" has been highly praised, becoming an important nighttime attraction in Taitung. The festival not only attracts tourists for photo opportunities and check-ins but has also become a popular spot for local residents for evening walks. Recently, the Taitung County Government adjusted the second season’s lighting theme "Brilliant Galaxy" and will officially light up the new third season theme "Polar Fairy Tale" on October 25. This exhibition will showcase dual themes, allowing visitors to experience both the starry sky and a dreamy polar atmosphere, inviting people from all over the country to visit Taitung during the autumn and winter seasons to enjoy the "Tiehua Lantern Festival" and the "Jhihben Hot Spring Light Festival."

The dazzling lanterns around the Tiehua New Settlement in Taitung City have become the most popular check-in spot at night, especially the astronauts and giant moon from the second season's "Brilliant Galaxy," which have been loved by visitors. Based on public feedback, the Taitung County Government decided to extend the display time for some of the lanterns and also added the third season's "Polar Fairy Tale" theme. During a recent preview, the new theme again received enthusiastic responses.
The new theme "Polar Fairy Tale" is set against a dreamy polar world background, incorporating elements of ice and fairy tales, with a "Romantic Canopy" planned along the pedestrian path at the Tiehua Market. The path features "Christmas Gift Boxes" and "Musical Wishing Hats" as entrance highlights to attract visitors. Additionally, a 7-meter-tall "Snow Polar Bear" and the dazzling "Ice Crystal Penguin" will greet visitors next to the market. On the other side, there are cute Christmas hats and candy canes, creating a feeling of being in a Christmas fairy tale world.

The new theme of the "2024 Iron Lantern Festival" [Polar Fairy Tale] will be held from October 25, 2024 to February 16, 2025. The lights will be on from 18:00 to 22:30 every night. The Taitung County Government reminds the public not to touch or push the decorations for safety reasons, and to avoid leaning on, climbing, or pulling on the wires of the lanterns while taking photos.
