Kaohsiung City's New Immigrant Center launched the "New Generation Talks Loudly" Talent Development Program in 2023, targeting second-generation new immigrants from Indonesia, Vietnam, and other countries. The program provides comprehensive training in project planning and Podcast production, enabling participants to learn how to share their cultural heritage and personal growth stories through audio platforms.
Over the two-year training program, participants learned Podcast production from scratch, including show planning, content writing, recording, and editing — all done by the students themselves. The initiative aims to encourage immigrant children to express themselves, showcase their talents, and promote understanding and cultural exchange through diverse perspectives.
The participants' programs will be available weekly from December 2024 to February 2025 and are already accessible on major Podcast platforms. The diverse content includes introductions to their home countries' cultures, personal growth experiences, and family stories, offering listeners insights into the lives and cultural backgrounds of immigrant communities."New Generation Talks Loudly" Podcast Program Preview (Photo/Source: Kaohsiung New Immigrants Hall FB)
The "New Generation Talks Loudly" initiative uses sound as a medium to bridge cultural gaps, empowering second-generation immigrants to share their voices and showcase the beauty of multiculturalism. Audiences can search for the program on Podcast platforms to hear these young individuals tell unique cultural stories from their perspectives.
