The NIA provides living allowances of up to 3 months for new immigrants during the epidemic

The "New Residents Development Fund" originally had a "pre-registration welfare and assistance program for new residents in special circumstances." The National Immigration Agency (NIA) urges local governments to actively assist in the application and help new residents' families to survive this difficult time. Each person will be issued a maximum of 3 months of minimum living expenses in the current year.

The NIA stated that for the existing relief plan, the Taiwanese national of the new resident family may apply. If the new resident family meets the low-income condition and the accepted special circumstances before their residency registration, and if the local government has assessed that their life was affected within these three months like having financial difficulties that are not due to personal liability, debt, voluntary unemployment, they may apply for emergency living assistance from the county or city government.

In addition, the National Immigration Agency urges all people to contact the city or county district office where they live if they need assistance and related services. If they have any related questions, they may ask the city or county government’s New Resident Family Service Center.
