Many patients with chronic diseases are prescribed long-term medicines, and they often visit the hospital to get their medicine. However, as local Covid-19 cases rise in Taiwan, fear drives patients away from hospitals.

As a result, the Kaohsiung Medical University Chung-Ho Memorial Hospital offers a virtual video consultation service to avoid the spread of the coronavirus.

Patients can first make an appointment on the official website, then leave their mobile phone number. And afterward, staff members will arrange the virtual video consultation and guide patients to use LINE.

During the virtual video consultation, the hospital would first confirm the patient’s identification in the video. Patients should present their national health insurance card or other identification documents.

And when the consultation is over, the doctor will offer a prescription, patients can use the “醫指付APP” to make a payment. And then get the medicine at an outdoor counter. There will be no contact between the doctor and the patient in this process.
