Keep African Swine Fever at Bay

With the upcoming Lunar New Year, the Taiwanese government's epidemic measures have been relaxed. Since December 10th, 2022, the border has been opened, and many new immigrants have been able to return to their hometowns to reunite with their families. National Immigration Agency hereby to reminds new immigrants and migrant workers not to bring pork products imported from infected area of African Swine Fever to Taiwan when entering the country to avoid fines.

1, Don’t bring meat product from abroad when entering Taiwan

2, Don’t shop mean products abroad online and ship to Taiwan

3, Don’t visit livestock farms abroad

Keep African Swine Fever at Bay

The maximum fine for pork products mailed to Taiwan will increase to NT$1 million

National Immigration Agency appeals to new immigrants and migrant workers not to bring meat products from area where there is an outbreak of African swine fever to Taiwan. Violators will be fined in accordance with the “Statute for Prevention and Control of Infectious Animal Diseases” First offense NT$200,000, Second offense (or additional) NT$1 million. Those who are unable to pay will be refused entry.

Do not ship seasonal meat or processed foods contains meat to Taiwan. in addition to the relevant penalties for the sender, the recipient will also be fined NT$200,000 or NT$1 million depending on the number of violations.

On the eve of the Lunar New Year, in order to prevent the African swine fever epidemic from invading during the Spring Festival, National immigration Agency once again reminded new immigrants and migrant workers not to bring meat products from area where there is an outbreak of African swine fever to Taiwan by yourself. And do not ask relatives and friends ship or express delivery meat products or processed foods contains meat to Taiwan. Don’t violate the regulations because miss the taste of hometown and get caught and be fined to spoil the festive atmosphere.

 

1, Don’t import meat products illegally from abroad to Taiwan

2, Inform your friends and family not to deliver meat products to you from abroad

3, If you receive meat from abroad or without clear source of origin, please throw it away as general trash of kitchen waste
