Vice President Leni Robredo, who was the country’s anti-drug advoctor, said she will have a meeting with the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) to work on anti-illegal drug drive. The meeting will focus on activating the organization, Ugnayanng Barangay at Simbahan (UBAS), a venue that is in partnership with barangays (local villages) and other religious organizations.
Robredo spoke to the reporters in Bula, Camarines Sur on Saturday. “The UBAS has a good anti-illegal drugs campaign. We are looking into entering the Inter-Agency Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs on this organization.  I will have a meeting soon with the CBCP, and I will ask for their help to activate the UBAS.”

The Vice President added that she also sought for meetings with different advocacy groups to coordinate with the Department of the Interior and Local Government’s (DILG) efforts in the anti-drug drive. “On the DILG side, I think they did a satisfactory job on the anti-drug campaign. They just need to share its efforts to the public.” she said.
