The "Scholarship Program for Immigrants & their Children (新住民及其子女培力與獎助(勵)金計畫)" was introduced by National Immigration Agency to motivate new immigrants to actively participate in various technical skill examinations in order to receive certificates. With the charity association (苗栗縣感恩慈善協會) on March 11, the NIA Miaoli County Service Center provided computer equipment and helped with the application after taking into account the inconvenience of computer operation for new immigrants.

The " Scholarship Program for Immigrants & their Children" registration period for 2023 is open until March 20. Before the 20th, those who wish to apply for certificate scholarships must independently log into the scholarship system. After submitting an application, download the form with a serial number and the application list from the system, attach the necessary supporting documents, and mail the form to National Immigration Agency with a postmark no later than March 27.

According to the director (張金順) of the NIA Miaoli County Service Center, that National Immigration Agency attaches great importance to the care and counseling of new immigrants. Over the years, it has launched various training programs to encourage new immigrants to obtain certificates. Not only can they apply for incentives, but they can also cultivate professional skills and enhance their competitiveness in the workplace.

The National Immigration Agency has been promoting the "Expanded Overstayers Voluntary Departure Program" from February 1 to June 30 this year in order to help migrants who have overstayed (resident) return to their countries as soon as possible. Individuals who come self-report and meet the requirements will be penalized leniently and adopt three measures: No detention, exemption from entry ban, minimum fines. NIA has also set up a special free consultation hotline 0800-024-881, which provides multilingual services. Migrant workers and foreigners who have overstayed are welcome to use this hotline for consultation.
