Pandemic slows in Taiwan and the regulations on gatherings and food & beverage industry have been loosened. The Ministry of Education (MOE) has recently loosened regulations on school activities as well. With epidemic prevention regulations implemented, schools of or below tertiary levels are allowed to immediately reopen ensemble, and courses for wind instruments, singing, performing arts and art talent classes. Besides, cooperation and exchange programs between schools are permitted too.

MOE stated that when performing art groups of or below tertiary levels have practices, there should be up to 80 people indoors and up to 300 people outdoors. The list of instructors and students should be recorded and managed. Practices should always be done by the same members, and the health monitoring plan and contact tracing mechanism should be set for future uses.

Take into consideration the needs of students who cannot play the wind instruments or have choir practices with masks. MOE pointed out that masks can be temporarily removed during performances or practices. However, one should immediately put on masks once the performances or practices end. Furthermore, schools should strengthen epidemic prevention regulations according to the situation. For example, asking students and instructors to wear goggles and face shields or placing partitions to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission via droplets.

As for the courses and activities of art talent classes, MOE mentioned that cooperation and exchange programs between schools are allowed with epidemic prevention regulations implemented. In addition, common classrooms and spaces for talent classes such as music classes, art classes and dance classes should be disinfected regularly. Disinfection should be done more frequently in accordance with the situation.
