According to Taiwan Felloweship, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Central Library host the 2021 Presentations of MOFA Taiwan Fellowship Scholars: Stability and Prosperity in the Indo-Pacific Region—Taiwan's Possible Role on May 5th, 2021.
The forum is composed of two sections with the topic "Japan-Taiwan Relations in the Indo-Pacific Region" and "Taiwan's Search for a Grand Strategy after US-China Engagement".
Dr. Klement Gu (Direct General of Department of Policy Planning, Ministry of Foreign Affairs) is invited as chairperson, and the forum is attended by over 30 guests, including two speakers: Dr. Madoka Fukuda (Professor, Hosei University) and Mr. Wen-Ti Sung (Lecturer, The Australian National University), and two discussants: Dr. Yujen Kuo (Director, The Center for Japanese Studies; Professor, Institute of China and Asia-Pacific Studies, National Sun Yat-sen University) and Dr. Kuan-Hsiung Wang (Professor, Graduate Institute of Political Science; Dept. of East Asian Studies, National Taiwan Normal University)
According to the Taipei Mission in the Republic of Latvia mentions, the Taiwan Fellowship is established by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) of Taiwan to encourage international experts and scholars who are interested in topics related to Taiwan, cross-strait relations, China, Asia-Pacific, and Sinology to pursue advanced studies at Taiwan’s universities, colleges or research institutions.
- Eligibility
(1) Recipients shall be foreign nationals who are professors, associate professors, assistant professors, post-doctoral researchers, doctoral candidates, or doctoral program students at related departments of overseas universities, or research fellows of an equivalent status in foreign academic institutions.
(2) Please note that those who are currently conducting research, teaching, or studying in Taiwan are ineligible.
- The Fellowship
(1) One round-trip, economy-class ticket for the most direct route to Taiwan (with maximum subsidy for each area)
(2) Monthly stipends from NT$50,000 to NT$60,000. The minimum duration of a fellowship is three months, and the maximum one year.
(3) Group accident insurance provided during the term of research in Taiwan (NT$1 million for an accidental death, and NT$50,000 for accident injury medical benefits.)

- Research proposal (Three pages in principle using a standard research format)
- Two letters of recommendation, or one letter of recommendation and one letter of consent from the chief administrator of their institute
