Modern people often experience symptoms such as fatigue, drowsiness, abdominal pain, or diarrhea due to long-term emotional imbalance, high work pressure, and changes in lifestyle. These problems can be categorized as "autonomic nervous system disorder." The autonomic nervous system includes the sympathetic and parasympathetic nerves, responsible for regulating various physiological functions like the heart, lungs, and gastrointestinal tract, which cannot be consciously controlled. According to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) doctors, as life speeds up, many people, especially those with Type A personalities, tend to fall into autonomic nervous system disorder due to stress and internal exhaustion.People with Type A personality are usually in the "high-risk group" for autonomic nervous system disorders. Doctors indicate that symptoms of autonomic nervous system disorder vary from person to person. Some experience headaches and palpitations, while others have gastrointestinal discomfort, such as abdominal pain, diarrhea, or constipation. Type A personalities, known for their pursuit of perfection and urgency, often react intensely to pressure, which makes them more prone to symptoms of autonomic nervous system disorder. Stress management and relaxation techniques are crucial to improving symptoms, and exercise such as brisk walking, swimming, or cycling is an effective way to relieve stress. It helps increase serotonin levels and relaxes tense emotions. Three major methods are suggested to improve autonomic nervous system disorder: First, abdominal breathing, practiced in the morning and before bed, using deep breathing through the nose and exhaling through the mouth to help the body and mind relax. Second, neck relaxation exercises, including head nods and left-right rotations, can alleviate neck and shoulder tension and promote blood circulation. Combining these with hot compresses to the neck and around the eyes can effectively relieve tension. Third, stress-relief through food, with a balanced diet improving symptoms. It is recommended to consume protein-rich foods like meat, fish, eggs, and beans, which contain tryptophan that aids in neurotransmitter production and stabilizes mood.

Additionally, consuming magnesium- and calcium-rich foods like milk and sesame can help relax the nerves and reduce stress on the body. Maintaining a regular schedule, moderate exercise, and dietary adjustments are key to improving autonomic nervous system disorders, helping people manage stress in their busy lives while maintaining mental and physical well-being.
