July 22: CECC confirms 33 more COVID-19 cases, including 30 domestic cases and 3 imported cases

On July 22, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 33 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 33 new cases, 30 are domestic and the other three are imported. The CECC also announced four deaths today.

The CECC pointed out that of the 30 domestic cases, 15 are men and the other 15 are women, aged between under 5 to 79 years old.

Regarding those domestic cases, Taipei City and New Taipei City reported the most cases, both at 11, and Taoyuan City had the second-highest number, at 7. Hsinchu City reported 1 case.

Regarding the 4 deaths announced today, they were two men and two women between 60 and 79 years old.

Regarding the 3 new imported cases, Case #15601 is a Taiwanese boy under the age of 10. He returned to Taiwan from China on July 8. Case #15612 is an American man in his 20s. Case #15617 is a Taiwanese male in his 20s. He returned to Taiwan from United Arab Emirates (Dubai) on July 20.

Of the 15,511 confirmed cases in Taiwan, 1,253 are imported; 14,205 are domestic. There have been a cumulative total of 782 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 782 deaths, 774 are from domestic cases and the other 8 are from imported cases.

The CECC reminds the public to pay attention to personal hygiene, to reducing unnecessary outings, and to avoid crowded areas especially high-risk areas. Cooperating and following these epidemic prevention guidelines will keep everyone safe.
