The Department of Social Welfare, Taoyuan City Government offers training programs for hiring interpreters for new immigrants, but they are only open to speakers of Southeast Asian languages who are at least 20 years old, have household registration in Taoyuan City or currently reside there, and possess bilingual skills, including listening, speaking, reading, and writing Chinese and other languages. You can register for free if you meet the requirements. March 21 to March 31 is the registration period. Prior to April 12, those who have been accepted will be informed via phone or email.

This training's topics include teaching domestic violence and sexual assault awareness, immigration laws, household registration planning techniques, and work ethics for interpreters. Those who speak Thai or Tagalog may be given preference. The training period is from April 19 to April 21, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, a total of three days of classes. At the moment, only new immigrants who are Southeast Asian languages speakers can register.

All enrolled students are required to participate this course's activities. A certificate of completion of the training of interpreters will be awarded after the training and internship are finished, and students can also earn the prerequisites for the exam. The New Immigrants Family Service Center will offer the option to become an interpreter to those who successfully complete the written and oral exams.
