This year's National Games will take place in Tainan City. On October 21, the Tainan City Government organized a "Hero Banquet" for the candidates. Six dishes, each created by a chef from two restaurants Bib Gourmand recommended, were served at the event. It not only a banquet for the eyes and for the stomach of athletes but also promotes Tainan's local food.

Hero Banquet highlights chefs Chou Jung-tang (周榮棠) and Tsai Rui-cheng (蔡瑞成) to collaborate on creating six meals this time around that use a combination of regional speciality ingredients.
The athletes competing in the National Games, according to Tainan City Mayor Huang Wei-che (黃偉哲), are our heroes. The purpose of the Hero Banquet is to allow everyone to sample the popular snacks and meals in order to demonstrate Tainan's authenticity. This allows the heroes to eat joyfully and get a true sense of Tainan.
