The Taiwan International Religious Freedom Forum will be debuting at the Hsinchu Bible College today, May 30. This year’s theme is about “Rising to the Challenge”, where the religious leaders from many countries all over the world, the government representatives and the representatives of non-governmental organizations will discuss the promotion of global religious freedom in further, working together to find a plan for effective action.
Taiwan’s Presbyterian Church, China Aid, the Heritage Foundation and the Taiwan Association for China Human Rights co-sponsored the forum. While the Freedom House, the International Religious Freedom Roundtable/Secretariat, Center for Religious Liberty, Family Research Council, and Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation co-organized it.
The Taiwan International Religious Freedom Forum aims to call on the international community to take the action against the repression of religious freedoms around the world, strengthen the existing network of religious freedom initiatives, concentrate on leaders of all regions in the world to promote the religious freedom and human rights related things. The organizers hope could convey the importance of the freedom of belief through this forum, call any country or region to respect the freedom of the people to choose their own religious beliefs.
