National Immigration Agency (Chiayi County Service Center) held the "2021 Chiayi County New Immigrants Care Network Conference" on October 28, inviting relevant units of the Chiayi County Government, New Immigrants Family Service Center, and new immigrants NGO groups, etc. 17 public and private sector partners gathered on the day.

The conference promotes communication between the central and local governments, sharing measures that care about new immigrants, practical work experience, the collection of quintuple stimulus vouchers, African swine fever prevention measures, strengthening cross-agency service measures for new residents, and also shaping a friendly immigration environment.

NIA (Chiayi County Service Center) particularly shared the topics on human trafficking prevention, illegal transnational (border) marriage matchmaking. It is hoped that the partners in the meeting will share this useful knowledge with the new residents.

In addition, the "New Resident Care Home" (新住民關懷之家) also shared the results of encouraging new residents to learn soft pottery and paper-cutting crafts.

At the same time, the executive director of the Taiwan Love Continues Association Chen Mei Ru (陳美如), was also invited to share the establishment and results of a children's station to provide after-school guidance. The second generation of new immigrants, the bereaved, and underprivileged children are benefitted from the classes.

The director of NIA (Chiayi County Service Center) Lin Bing Huang (林炳煌) stated that the conference is a place the that forms a care network which connects the central & local governments, public departments, and NGO groups. Through the conferences held, the needs of local new immigrants will be better catered to.

At the same time, it is reminded that new residents can better understand the information related to the quintuple stimulus vouchers, NIA has compiled information pack in multiple languages (Chinese, English, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Thai, Cambodian, Burmese). Moreover, Taiwan Immigrants' Global News Network also provides a short version pack in 5 languages, including Chinese, English, Vietnamese, Indonesian, and Thai. It is hoped that everyone can make good use of it and jointly boost the economy of Taiwan.
