Prior to the announcement of the Michelin Guide Taiwan 2023, Michelin released a list of the Taiwanese restaurants that have received Bib Gourmand awards on August 23. Tainan topped the list for the majority of recently added businesses.

The mayor of Tainan pointed out that 36 stores in Tainan alone were selected in this Bib Gourmand awards list, setting a new record, and 10 of them are newly selected stores.

There are frequently issues with traffic and parking because many of the restaurants selected in Tainan this time are situated in the Central and Western Districts, which are also historic city districts.
