The visa-free period for citizens of Thailand, Brunei, and the Philippines to visit Taiwan will be extended from August 1 through July 31 of the following year, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Republic of China (Taiwan) and pertinent visa regulations will continue to be improved to enhance bilateral relations, the ease of visitors, and the handling of Taiwan visas.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs convened an inter-ministerial meeting of pertinent agencies to conduct a thorough review of the 30-day visa-free policy for Thai, Brunei, and Filipino nationals visiting Taiwan in order to take into account the development of tourism in the post-epidemic era and the needs of the active tourism market. The council resolved to extend the visa-free measures for entering Taiwan from August 1 to July 31 of the next year, as well as the project for group travel electronic permits, to December 31 of the following year after considering the effectiveness of this policy throughout the years.
In order to raise the standard of both domestic and international travel, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs indicated that it hoped to work for the rights and interests of foreign visitors through interactions with New Southbound nations, while also considering border security and travel security into consideration.
