For the sake of strengthening cooperation in new southbound policy, team of Chung Shan Medical University(中山醫學大學) visited Indonesia recently and signed MOU with relevant medical units on oral medical care service for those with special needs in Jakarta to share professional medical technology.
Professor Kao Chia-tze(高嘉澤), Vice President of Chung Shan Medical University, who visited Indonesia with his team on Double Tenth Day to construct the partnership in oral medical service with University of Indonesia and the care clinic as well as nursing home in Indonesia.
Chung Shan Medical University stated that MOU includes to promote the accessibility and international communication between Taiwan and Indonesia in aspects of improving the quality of medical care for special needs, assisting in establishment of a comprehensive medical referral process, providing consultation on the implementation of oral medical service and increasing medical consultation of medical personnel for oral medical care, long-term communication project and professional medical technology.
Professor Kao presented that College of Oral Medicine in Chung Shan Medical University concluded with School of Dental Medicine in University of Indonesia as international academic partners last year. It signed MOU of medical and academic communication for special needs on March which will further advocating the partnership between Taiwan and Indonesia in the future.
He also pointed out that the special needs refer to patients with Down's syndrome or cerebral palsy. For those with special needs, in addition to dentists, internal medicine and anesthesiology, special equipment is needed to assist patients. School of Dental Medicine in University of Indonesia assists patients to see a doctor. Through this procedure, it improved the quality of medical care for Indonesians.
