Because of the upcoming presidential election next year, Taipei District Prosecutors Office held a press conference alongside with Immigration Agency, Railway Bureau and Taiwan After-Care Association Taipei and Shilin Department, promoting anti bribery. New resident celebrity ,Larisa, as the host of the press conference, hoping that new residents and Taiwanese voters can go against bribery all together and vote for their right legitimately.
The event is not only just a promotion of anti-bribery act for the new resident by Immigration Agency, the official also invited a dance group to perform in the event as a symbol of Taiwanese diversity cultures. Larisa, who just got her Taiwanese identification card earlier this year, is going to be the first-time voter for the big election next year. She spoke up for the anti-bribery act with the new residents, aboriginals and Hakka people all together.
Deputy minister for Interior, Chiu Chang Yu, indicated that there are 22,5985 new residents who have the right to vote next year and the number for the first-time voter is 8537. It is important for the official to stop the bribery act with the help of every citizen, making use of their phone to collect the evidences and stop propaganda, foreign interference and illegal betting on election from happening.
