Kaohsiung's Love River ignites a new wave of romance! The "2024 Kaohsiung Love‧Moon Hot Air Balloon" will launch spectacularly right before the Mid-Autumn Festival, bringing brand-new balloon designs to meet you. This year’s event not only features romantic hot air balloon flights over Love River, but also includes a vibrant weekend market, light shows, and specialty foods, offering a one-stop feast for your eyes and taste buds.

On September 14 and 15, Love River will become the stage for the hot air balloons, with newly designed balloons making their debut and sure to steal the spotlight. The Kaohsiung City Tourism Bureau has carefully planned this event, inviting everyone to experience a unique Mid-Autumn Festival. The romantic night sky and the illuminated Love River, lit by the glow of hot air balloons, is an experience you won’t want to miss. To make the event even more exciting, the Tourism Bureau is hosting a special raffle. In addition to the romantic hot air balloon show at Love River, the event will move to the spectacular Moon World in Tianliao on the weekends of September 28-29 and October 5-6 for tethered balloon rides. Enjoy the surreal experience of "landing on the moon" amidst the unique landscape of Tianliao’s Moon World. This area, often compared to Cappadocia in Turkey, is Taiwan’s ninth badlands geopark, drawing countless visitors from home and abroad. Kaohsiung Tourism Bureau Director Gao Min-Lin warmly invites everyone to experience a journey that feels like "walking on the moon."
During the Moon World event, not only will there be tethered hot air balloon rides, but also a hot air balloon light show starting at 6 PM, where you can immerse yourself in a dazzling world of lights and shadows. The combination of balloon lights and the unique terrain will create an unforgettable visual experience. The event will also feature local delicacies from Tianliao, such as native chicken dishes, rice wine chicken, and soy milk chicken, providing a feast for your palate and a chance to savor local flavors.

The Tourism Bureau reminds everyone that hot air balloon activities are influenced by natural conditions like airflow and temperature, so the number of spots for each tethered ride experience is limited. Reservations for tickets will open in mid-September through the 7-ELEVEN ibon system, and visitors are encouraged to book early to secure a spot. Those who can't reserve a ticket can still queue up on-site to purchase tickets and enjoy the captivating charm of the hot air balloons up close.
