In response to the election of the President, Vice President and Legislative Council is hold on January next year, the Yunlin District Prosecutors Office held a press conference of calling for anti-bribery at the Huwei township office on October 16th. Yunlin County Service Station of South District Affairs Brigade has prepared Indonesian and Vietnamese versions of anti-bribery propaganda, so that new residents can also intergrate into democracy in Taiwan and fight against bribery together.
In order to prevent people from being involved in bribery because they do not understand the laws and regulations, Yunlin District Prosecutors Office has organized a number of activities to explain anti-bribery affairs.
The forms of bribery can be presented in various ways such as buying votes, sponsoring activities, free travel and dining, etc. The promotion of anti-bribery hopes to break the gap between language, Yunlin County Service Station invited two Indonesian and Vietnamese interpreters to assist in translation. It provided Vietnamese posters which clearly state the common methods of bribery and the number of report bonuses so that new residents are able to fight bribes together and promote “clean elections.”
After the explanation of Yunlin District Prosecutors Office, the new residents responded and also put forward discussions, said that “it gets easier to understand Taiwan's regulation in own language. It should be careful in the future. Don't just accept gifts from others for no reasons”
The administrator of Yunlin County Service Station Huang Wen-zhen(黃玟晸) emphasized that citizen should immediately call the Yunlin County Service Station to report for a bribery act by the number as 05-5345971 and protect the core values of democracy in Taiwan.
