According to CECC, CECC confirms 5 more imported cases, cases arrive in Taiwan from the Philippines, Russia, the UK, and Canada.
On April 14, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced five new confirmed imported cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Those five new cases arrived in Taiwan from the Philippines (Case #1064 and Case #1065), Russia (Case #1066), the UK (Case #1067), and Canada (Case #1068).
Case #1064 is an over 20-year-old female from the Philippines. The Filipina traveled to Taiwan for work on March 31. She was tested for COVID-19 on April 13 before completing the quarantine period; infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in the case on April 14.
Case #1065 is an over 30-year-old male from the Philippines. The Filipino man traveled to Taiwan to work as a sailor on March 28. He visited the hospital to take a self-paid test after completing the quarantine period on April 12. Infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in the case on April 14.
Case #1066 is a Russian man in his 40s. He was diagnosed with COVID-19 in his home country in December 2020. The Russian man came to Taiwan for work on January 20, 2021, and worked on a ship from February 4 to April 10. He returned to Taiwan on April 11. He visited the hospital to take a self-paid test on April 12. Infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in the case on April 14 (the CT value was 35; he tested negative after given another RT-PCR test, and he tested negative for IgM and positive for IgG antibodies).
Case #1067 is an over 40-year-old male from the United Kingdom. The British man was diagnosed with COVID-19 in his home country in January. He came to Taiwan for work on March 31. He was tested for COVID-19 on April 13, before completing the quarantine period; infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in the case on April 14.
Case #1068 is a Taiwanese male in his 70s. The Taiwanese man returned to Taiwan from Canada on April 9. He sought medical care for other diseases on April 12, and the health authority arranged for him to undergo COVID-19 testing. Infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in the case on April 14.
