2024 Taichung Christmas Like No Other!
The 2024 Taichung Christmas Carnival will grandly launch on December 13. This year’s theme, “2024 Taichung is Sweet, Christmas is Here!”, features the beloved Pixar movie Monsters, Inc. with Taiwan’s first-ever 16-meter-tall Sulley-themed Christmas tree, set to be a national sensation.

According to the Taichung City Government Information Bureau, the event incorporates local Taichung desserts and various unique themed light displays. Visitors can take photos with Monsters, Inc. characters from the old Taichung train station to Green River. The old train station will also host the Hao Yang Market, showcasing creative goods, floral arrangements, desserts, and baked goods, alongside captivating cultural performances. This exciting event promises a one-of-a-kind, sweet-and-spooky Christmas celebration!

Grass Walk Christmas Village

The Chin Mei Group continues the overwhelming success of last year’s “Christmas Village Project” with the theme “Incredible Life, Incredible Season.” Running until January 2, 2025, this event at Taichung’s Grass Walk features immersive holiday experiences, including the 250-meter “Path of Light” snow-lit trail illuminated by 400,000 silver-white lights. The pathway, designed by renowned Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, connects major attractions such as the Taichung Chin Mei International Hotel, chapel, and Chin Mei Art Museum, creating a magical Christmas atmosphere in the Grass Walk district.
