DPP WOMEN (民進黨婦女部) held a referendum briefing at Kaohsiung Business Convention Center, inviting more than 120 new immigrants from Vietnam, Indonesia, Myanmar, Thailand, and Cambodia to participate in the session. The Vice President Lai Ching-te (賴清德) also shared the referendum issues with the new immigrants.

The Vice President Lai expressed his gratitude to the new immigrants attended the briefing session who travelled far away from their hometowns and got married in Taiwan. “No matter where you come from, we are now a family,” he says.

In 4 referendums, the Vice President Lai emphasized that the most important one is the ‘importing US pork products’. Besides the food safety issue, this also affects whether Taiwan has a way to integrate with the international trading system.

The referendum is around the corner, and the DPP WOMEN is also planning to hold at least nine rounds of nationwide referendum talks, explaining the referendum issues to new immigrants. It is hoped that the public will cast their votes for the future of Taiwan.
