The call for paper of 5th Migrant Workers Photography organized by the non-profit organization One-Forty has kicked off on March 27th. The call for contributions from migrant workers in Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Thailand has been included this year, and the final works that have been chosen will be displayed on tour in Taiwan.

"The Hero's Journey" is the subject of this year's photography contest. In their own families as well as for the country as a whole, migrant workers are unsung heroes who bring economic benefits. Migrant workers in Taiwan are the unsung heroes who support the country's labor force and deal with the requirements of the aging population. The winner from the previous year's contest, an Indonesian caregiver, Windi, said that joining the photography contest is not just for the chance to take home the cash award, but also to give voice to depict photographs that are impossible to describe in words.

The deadline for call for paper of this year's Immigrant Workers Photography is May 30. Migrant workers from Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Thailand who are currently residing in Taiwan are eligible to submit entries. On July 5th, winners will be revealed on the One-Forty Facebook page. One-Forty's founder (陳凱翔) stated it is hoped that more people would learn about the accomplishments and stories of migrant workers through this event, leading to more understanding and respect. At the same time, the founder also appeals to Taiwanese citizens to encourage more migrant workers to participate.
