The "Dream Building Program for New Residents and Their Children" organized by the Immigration Department has entered its 10th year this year. Since its establishment, the program has been committed to helping new residents and their children realize their dreams. The participants have shown unparalleled enthusiasm in the journey of realizing their dreams. With perseverance, their achievements and joy have inspired countless people. We will introduce the outstanding winners of this year's "Multiple Media and Digital Technology Group" one by one. Let's take a look at what technologies and methods these new residents have used to realize their dreams!

Film and television. New Life - Hu Jiashang & Zhang Ying
Hu's mother, Zhang Ying, is from Sichuan. Influenced by her mother's active participation in charity activities, she decided to use her digital media skills to help new residents living in Taiwan and let more people understand Sichuan culture and the stories of the new residents. We chose to use a documentary format to interview the new residents’ struggles and cultural integration in Taiwan.

Kagami participated in various activities with the Kawagoe Culture and Art Troupe and recorded the interactions between new residents and local residents. An online platform will be set up to broadcast the completed documentary on the platform for exchanges, hoping to promote understanding of the new residents from all walks of life and break cultural barriers.Hu’s home records the living integration situation of new residents in the community ( picture / reproduced from NIA FB of the Immigration Department )

Treasure Island Lady - Jiang Mengyun, Li Wanru
One day, Jiang Mengyun's son asked her whether peanuts grow on trees or on the ground. She discovered that children of this generation were unfamiliar with the growing process of crops, so she decided to participate in the Dream Building Project, hoping to record the growing process of crops through video. Build agricultural knowledge and the importance of nature conservation.

So she will shoot videos of rice transplanting and peanuts in the sand, upload them to the online platform of "Treasure Island Lady", which she runs, and hold video editing courses to improve the learning skills of new residents. In addition, we assisted the Yilan County Service Station of the Immigration Department in filming a documentary video on the results of counseling for new residents and cooperated with the New Residents Care Association to provide free publicity on the prevention and control of domestic violence.

Meng Yun's efforts have been well received by participants and audiences. In the future, she will continue to operate the "Treasure Island Gui Fu" online platform to promote educational knowledge and continue to advance.Jiang Mengyun takes photos of family education and legal publicity courses for new residents ( picture / reproduced from NIA FB of the Immigration Department )
