According to Taiwanstay.net 's data, Tainan City came in first position in Taiwan for the hotel industry's occupancy rate in 2022, and more than 5 million people stayed there throughout the year, making it the first city in Taiwan to experience a recovery from tourism. According to the acting director of the Tourism Bureau of Tainan City Government, Tainan already held the top spot in Taiwan for the first quarter of this year in terms of the overall occupancy rate of both the general hotel industry and the tourist hotel industry, and the number of hotels in the industry is also steadily increasing.

Numerous people visit Tainan for its delectable cuisine and historical landmarks. Tainan City has the highest overall hotel occupancy rate in Taiwan during the first quarter of this year, with a rate of 58.95%, according to the most recent statistics from Taiwanstay.net. Taipei City and Hsinchu County are in second and third position, respectively.

The Tourism Bureau of Tainan City Government recommended that it would continue to direct and implement the management of hotel operators, understand market trends, fully exploit each group's positioning, and target client segments. By gaining environmental protection labels, eco-friendly hotels, bicycle-friendly accommodations, etc., the bureau will also work to make Tainan a sustainable and ecologically friendly city this year.
