Recently, Taichung City Police Department helped a South African guy. This man is said to be an exchange student who travelled to Taiwan to gather with his sister, who also works there. However, the South African student felt quite helpless because the sister couldn't adequately describe the address of her apartment over the phone, so the student had to go to the police station for assistance.

The on-duty police officer spoke in English with the South African student and learnt about their predicament. The South African student, however, just know their sister's phone number and are unable to communicate in Chinese. Due to the accent issue, the address information supplied over the phone was not very clear.

Later, after contacting the student's sister via Facebook and text messages, the police were able to locate the sister's home. The student was very grateful for the police’s assistance in directing him in the right direction.

After thereafter, the South African student's sister messaged the police on Facebook to let them know that her younger brother had arrived safely and to thank them for helping to reunite their family.
