Numerous artistic and cultural events have also resumed once the pandemic has tapered down. String Theater from the UK was particularly invited by the Kaohsiung Spring Arts Festival to deliver their most recent performance, "A Water Journey," which will be presented at the Kaohsiung Experimental Theatre over the course of two days at the end of May.

The audience adores the hanging silk puppet show, which has been popular in Europe since the seventeenth century. The puppet is given life by the puppeteer's use of strong strings, together with innovative music and the theatrical effects.

The UK's String Theater was established in 2011. Stan Middleton, the creator, is a third-generation descendant of the renowned Puppet Theater Barge in London. Puppeteers stand on a 1.2-meter-high platform to execute the traditional hanging silk puppet show, which is pretty challenging yet artistic.

The latest work "A Water Journey" from the UK-based String Theater has no language in the whole play and relies entirely on the delicate interpretation of the puppeteer to bring vivid puppet performances.
