According to Singapore passport remains second-most powerful in the world | The Star, along with South Korea's passport, the Singapore passport continues to rank second globally in terms of visa-free travel to 192 countries.

According to the most recent revision of a global index compiled by global citizenship and residence advice firm Henley & Partners on Tuesday, the Japanese passport continues to lead the pack in terms of providing holders with visa-free entry to 193 places.

Singapore and Japan tied for first place in October 2021 for allowing passport holders to travel to 192 locations without a prior visa approval. 199 passports and 227 travel locations are listed in the Henley Passport Index, which is based on information from the International Air Transport Association.

As more nations in the Asia-Pacific area begin to open up following the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, the most recent ranking is released. According to the company, international travel is currently at about 75% of pre-pandemic levels. After years of unmet travel demand, citizens are more likely to use their freedom to travel once more.
