Weekly News (June 28 – July 4)

  • The pandemic subsidy for children starting at NTD10,000 will be provided starting June 18

Registration for the epidemic prevention subsidies for children opens on June 15 and will be credited on June 18. Families can receive NTD10,000 as long as they register through the "Anti-Epidemic Subsidy" website. 3 ATM banks are open for this program, Cathay United Bank, CTBC Bank, and Taishin International Bank.   • Attention Taipei City Residents: Implementation of crowd control and limited shopping time

The Taipei City Government announced that starting June 12, supermarkets and stores will base crowd control on the digits found on ID cards. The restriction will be active on weekends. (Detailed report: Entrance to Markets in Taipei Determined by the Last Digit of ID)

  • Migrant workers are temporarily suspended from switching employers

A cluster infection among factory migrant workers recently occurred in Miaoli County. In response to this, the Ministry of Labor (MOL) temporarily prohibits migrant workers from switching employers. This is also a reminder to reduce unnecessary outings to avoid the risk of cluster infections.   • No need to panic when receiving alerts from the Taiwan Social Distancing App!

Download the Taiwan Social Distancing APP to protect yourself during the epidemic. The Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) reminds the public not to panic when they receive a red warning. People can call the 1922 hotline or contact the Department of Health. Remember to pay attention to your personal health and to seek medical treatment as soon as possible if you feel unwell.
