Recently, the general public reported seeing a recruitment posting purporting to be from the Taiwan Water Corporation, which described the hiring of meter readers for a high salary of 70,000 to 100,000 NTD. The public is cautioned by Taiwan Water Corporation not to be duped by recruitment on social media.

The Taiwan Water Corporation responded to the online advertisement by issuing a special press release via the Ministry of Economic Affairs' official website to make it clear that it was untrue and that it had informed the Taichung City Investigation Bureau for handling. The Taiwan Water Corporation indicated that only its official website will be used to communicate information regarding the list and the selection. Personnel for outsourced water meter readers will be handled in accordance with the applicable government procurement laws, and the entire procedure is open and transparent.
